El taller es para personas con interés en desarrollar sus destrezas como intérprete, sea experto o principiante.  Con enfoque en interpretación comunitaria, la agenda incluirá: una introducción a la creación de espacios multilingües, el rol del intérprete en organización comunitaria, y práctica de destrezas esenciales en interpretación simultánea y consecutiva.  Se concluirá con una conversación sobre interpretación comunitaria en Providence, y como queremos organizarnos en el futuro.  L@s facilitador@s tienen experiencia con interpretación de inglés, español, y portugués, pero hablantes de todos los idiomas son bienvenid@s.  Se sugiere una donación entre $5 y $30, o puede llevar un snack para compartir.

This workshop is for people interested in developing their skills as an interpreter, whether they are experts or beginners.  With a focus on community interpreting, the agenda will include: an introduction to the creation of multilingual spaces, the role of the interpreter in community organizing, and practice in essential skills for simultaneous and consecutive interpreting.  The workshop will conclude with a conversation about community interpreting in Providence and how to organize ourselves in the future.  Facilitators have experience with interpreting in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, but speakers of all languages are welcome.  A sliding scale $5 - $30 donation is suggested, or you can bring a snack to share.
